Introduction
This document is prepared for clients using ASR's "Eleos to Geotab Drive" SSO model. Geotab Drive supports up to three drivers per vehicle at one time. After the active driver has logged into the app, any subsequent drivers can login, change their duty status, and take over the driver’s seat, by following the steps below.
Adding co-drivers

- Click on the Hours-of-Service (HOS) placard to launch Geotab Drive.
Please note that these steps for logging in a co-driver are only for clients using ASR’s Geotab Drive Split-Out version of the application and SSO process. For clients using Eleos’ SSO model, co-drivers will have to use Eleos’ process to log in, using the red “Add a Team Driver” button on the HOS placard instead.
- Select the current driver’s name in the upper right corner and choose ‘Add driver’.
- The next driver will then enter their login credentials, noting that if the Geotab Drive app password is less than eight (8) characters, they must enter enough zeroes (0) at the end to meet the minimum password size.
(For example, a password of 1234 must be entered as 12340000).
*Disclaimer: Please check with your Geotab Reseller to see if your Geotab environment has specific password requirements (such as AT&T CSO). Certain password requirements like length minimums, letter casing, impacts automated provisioning done through the Geotab API which may prevent you from using integrated designs (i.e. your Geotab password will not have the ability to match the Eleos password with padding, drivers will have to adhere to the reseller database requirements for password security). * - The driver that just logged in may be asked to ‘Claim Unassigned Logs’ and may click ‘Skip’ if none apply.
- You can then hit the ‘Home’ button and go back to your Company Branded or ASR Branded app, where the HOS placard will be updated with both drivers.
- All steps can be repeated above to add a third driver, noting at step two that the icon to click is just a + sign.
Changing Duty Status
The HOS placard will reflect the duty status of the Active driver automatically, while co-drivers will need to change their status manually:
- Click on the HOS placard to launch Geotab Drive.
- Select the current driver’s name in the upper right corner, then click the Name (not any of the buttons) of the co-driver you’d like to change the status of.
- Now you can update the Duty Status of just the person’s name selected, without effecting the status of any other drivers.
Swapping seats
- Click on the HOS placard to launch Geotab Drive.
- Select the current driver’s name in the upper right corner, then choose ‘Driver’s seat’.
- Select the other driver.
- You can then hit the ‘Home’ button and go back to the other application, where the HOS placard will be updated with the drivers swapped.
- If the Active driver logs out, the co-driver will become the new Active driver.
