Overview
The following document is an overview of the Loads Placard on the platform: accessing loads, checking weather updates for loads, manipulating the map, viewing scanned documents, and adding hours of service to route planning.
Accessing Loads
Loads can be accessed by selecting individual loads within the “Loads” placard on the dashboard screen, shown by the red arrow in the screenshot below. You can also access all loads by selecting “View All Loads” at the bottom of the Loads placard, as shown in the red box in the right-side screenshot below.
It is important to note that no two companies’ placards may look the same. Eleos allows customization of the loads placard to fit the needs of a customer, and because of this there are no two set ups that are alike. Customers will use different status types, buttons, colors, icons, or data available on each load.
Below, in the screenshot to the right you can see in this example that there is a count of how many loads are in each status. Since the statuses companies use may vary, this counter at the bottom may look different than what is shown in the screenshot, or there may be no count at all for the loads, in which case this section would just say “View All Loads.”
Alternatively, the “Load List” box on the bottom of the menu, referred to by the blue arrow in the screenshot below, also navigates to the same “View All Loads” Screen. Please note that the Load List can be navigated to from the Menu, but it may be in a different location on the menu than what is shown in the screenshot. From this screen, individual loads can be selected from the list on the left. The yellow tab highlighting the first load on the list shows the current load the driver is working on.
In the Loads List, drivers may also see the option to view historical loads by clicking the View History tab in the loads list under the current load.
Some clients have the Terminal Master List in the Load List that the driver can click on and expand. Below the Terminal Master List, the driver still has the possibility to View History to see the historical loads:
Load Stickers
If a client chooses to display stickers on loads, those stickers can be found on the Load Level, generally underneath the Special Instructions section. Stickers are various icons that can be used to show distinct items related to a load like safety requirements, delayed stops, paperwork, etc. The stickers can also have colors associated to them to help stand out, or to the properties of the action. For example, the color of the sticker might show red for pending paperwork, but then green for processed paperwork. How the color changes are dependent on either a database or TMS flag, or a manual change by the company that will d. For example, the color of the paperwork sticker could change green based on a field in the database being updated, or it can change based on back office marking paperwork completed in the TMS. The screenshot below shows an example of a Paperwork sticker and a Settlements sticker that are one of the most popular use cases on Loads.

Checking Weather Updates for Loads
After a load is selected, if a client chooses to display weather conditions within the application, weather can be toggled on and off with the toggle switch at the top of the current load, as shown being pointed to by the red arrow in the left side screenshot.
Once weather is toggled on, the weather pane (highlighted by the red box in the screenshot above) can be selected to bring up specific weather updates.
Here is an example of the weather detail page in the application when a specific stop’s weather pane is selected:
Filtering and Adjusting the Map
Selecting the map icon on the Order Header will toggle topographical imagery in the map on and off.
Clicking the bullseye icon on the Order Header will center the route within the map window.
Selecting the layer icon will open the layering options. Select the desired points of interest to be added to the route. Scrolling through the “Layers” pane reveals more options.
Navigation in Loads
It is important to note that not all clients will have Navigation enabled within Eleos. The screenshot below shows the full route for this load example on the map, and the side panel shows the list of each stop in order.
By clicking the downward pointed arrow on a stop, you can expand the stop to see more details:
If you click on a Stop, the map will zoom in on the pin at the stop’s location. You can tell the stop is selected because the pin on the stop is filled in. The color of the pin shows whether it is the first stop (green), last stop (red), or in between (blue). Points of Interest can be inserted for display in Trip Planner and on the stop map. You can also move the pin as needed using the “Move Pin” button, found on the bottom left corner of the map within the application. Drag the pin to the location you wish to place it. From Eleos on the Move Pin feature: “gives the drivers the ability to move pick-up/delivery location pins based on satellite imagery — pin moves are used in crowdsourcing more accurate location data from your drivers (and any driver from any fleet who uses Eleos).”
Drivers can also add stops by clicking the “Add Stop” button above the list of Stops that are already on the load, and then adding a Point of Interest to the trip by typing in the address and clicking Add.
It is important to note that not all clients will give drivers the ability to move, add, or edit stops. Drivers are able to edit stop locations by moving pins and adding stops if turn-by-turn navigation and trip edits are enabled. If needed, this setting can be configured to prevent drivers from making any edits to the stops on a trip. By default, POI (point of interest) navigation is turned on, as long as turn by turn navigation is enabled. When prevent_navigation = true, turn-by-turn navigation is disabled for stop navigation and POI navigation. When prevent_trip_edits = true, drivers will not be allowed to add stops to a trip, and the prevent_location_changes flag will be overridden to true on all stops in the load, disabling the driver's ability to change the lat/long coordinates of a stop. There is also a configurable web service URL, called the Trip Change endpoint, that Eleos can use to let you know when a driver has moved a pin. The Trip Change endpoint is optional, and the information from that endpoint can be used however the client sees fit.
Route options come up when the driver hits the Route to Stop button on the map. This allows drivers to select any preferences for their route as well as truck properties such as height, weight, etc. It is important to note that even if height and weight are hardcoded in the integration to start per the company’s request, drivers can still change these specifications within Route Options.
Eleos specifies that the Vehicle Length parameter is the total length of the truck and trailer from tip to tail. Currently the integration has the Vehicle Length set to 53 ft. as a default, but this default length can be customized if needed.
View Load Attachments
Some clients choose to add attachments that drivers can see on the Load, like a picture of a registration, for example. The attachments on the Load, if there are any, will be visible on the Load level, above where each of the stops are listed on the screen. This is highlighted by the orange box in the left screenshot below. This area shows the number of attachments, and by clicking on the arrow, the driver can see the list of attachments and click on each one to view it.

View Scanned Documents
Scroll to the bottom of the Order Window and click “View Sent Documents” to see the list of documents that were scanned by the driver, including the Date/Time, Confirmation Number, and Document Type.
Adding Hours of Service to Route Planning
Selecting the “Edit” button within the load will bring up the trip settings. In the settings, it’s possible to “Show HOS on map” by selecting the checkbox to the right. When choosing to display HOS on map, it is important to remember that the small HOS clock that is added to the map/route planning, does not function the same way as the HOS placard on the dashboard, which is either tied to the telematics API or fully integrates with the Telematics like Geotab. Instead, the HOS clock displayed on the map shows when HOS will run out based on the number of driving hours available that the driver enters manually.
Add the remaining hours of service, time of departure, and select “Done” to update:
Now the hours of service will be visible on the map as shown in the screenshot below highlighted by a red box.
Also, the map will now display a yellow clock icon where the Hours of Service are expected to run out. It is important to note that the “HOS Runs Out” time does not show what is left from stop to stop and is not based on true HOS or linked to it. Instead the “HOS Runs Out” time shows where on the map HOS is expected to run out based on the Driving Hours Available that is entered by the driver. Selecting that clock icon, shown by the blue arrow in the screenshot below, will pull up a textbox that will display “HOS runs out” and the expected time it runs out.
